You may notice emails arriving in your inbox telling you that you have been tagged, this isn’t spam, it’s a notification from the Gallery3 system we have installed at http://gallery.raymerfamilies.com, as I or other volunteers go thru and tag faces and make accounts, you may recieve dozens of these messages a day until the project is complete.. and with several thousand pictures, I see this might take a while..

What can you do to help?

Help me tag! Everyone has a login now.. actually.. everyone everyone.. even if they’ve passed away.. because it’s necessary for the tagging proccess that each face have an account. But using your login you may help me tag, and upload pictures.

I can upload pics? how much space to I have?

It’s unlimited. You may upload all the photos you want at full resolution size, the gallery will make extra images on the fly using GD to suite a browser.

Where can I upload too?

We have the gallery Seperated in 3 main Albums, only 2 people usually go to, The Family Gallery and the Gatherings Gallery. You can automagically upload into the Gatherings one,  Any pics you take of a Family Gathering should go here.

In the Family Gallery, what I tried to do was make an album for anyone over the age of 18, if they have a family (ie kids) or not. Your “root” family has access to that.

Example: My wife can add pics to my brother’s family gallery.

How do I tag faces?

1. You must be logged on (obviously)

2. Find a picture that needs to be tagged.

3. At the top menu you will see Photo Options, hover over it and Choose Add Annotation:

4. Once Add Annotation is clicked, an object will appear on the picture, you can move this object to the person’s face.

5. Type the person’s name in the Person: Box, (the only other box you’d ever want to type in is the Description:, if you can’t find them.. contact me I’ll have to add them.

What happens when you tag?

It adds a box to your face here:

It also adds a list to the bottom of the photo of who is in the photo.
